Every once in awhile there’s a tune that the copyright police have cracked down on—when that happens, it’s almost impossible to fine a decent lead sheet. Want the music for They Say It’s Spring? Unavailable. At least you can hear Blossom Dearie sing it. While you listen, I guess I’ll go transcribe my own lead sheet—the easy way is nice, but transcribing is the real way.

So…happy spring! Hope your peonies are really taking off.

Speaking of peonies, my wife and I are working on a peony project of our own. Stay updated on that here: @peonyplacemillwood. Once we get our Airbnb launched, I’ll be back into jazz mode. Meanwhile I’m painting walls in colors called things like Today’s Mocha and Agreeable Grey.
